Welcome to Thirsty Old Lions Website!
The Thirsty Old Lions Rugby club are based on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland and were formed after many years of procrastination by the Father's of the Sunshine Coast Grammar School Junior Teams.
These Father's wanted more than to watch their Son's play Rugby on the weekends. They needed "Pain and Suffering and Injuries and pulled muscles". After nearly 3 years of gathering lesser minded mates, effectively putting us all over the hill, the TOL's were born. 2007 was our inaugural year and numbers quickly escalated to over 60 players.
The Thirsty Old Lions have evolved into the Sunshine Coast Thirsty Old Lions, with players now coming from all over the Sunshine Coast.
Home ground and "training" venue is now the Maroochydore Rugby Club Fifth Ave in Cotton Tree within walking distance to the ocean, river, accomodation, bars and restaurants.
"Training"!! takes place each Wednesday at 6pm at the Maroochydore Rugby Club and any one over 35 and interested in playing is very welcome to simply turnup to one of the training nights. Ist night 2010 is January 20 6pm.
